Austin Health Commons (AHC) was formed in 2016 as a means to develop community stewardship of Conscious Health and Healthcare and to shift ownership of healthcare from corporations back to communities. Our intention is for the AHC community trust to eventually own Karisha Community Center for Wellness.
We plan to raise a portion of the capital needed to build Karisha Community Center for Wellness through an investment crowdfunding offering on WeFunder in March 2020 so that our community owns and benefits from our health center.
Karisha Community is a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) primary and preventive health and healing center under construction in central East Austin.
A collaborative of 4 medical doctors and 8 integrative care providers will work in our 14,000 SF beautiful, healing space, which includes:
- Primary plus Priority Care Clinic
- Teaching Kitchen
- Studios for Physical Therapy, Massage, Chiropractic, Yoga, and Mindfulness
Karisha will accept private and public insurance, plus membership to support services not covered by insurance and also for uninsured ‘guests’ (patients).
